Keep your purchase records
On November 2011, the Dirección General de Aduanas (DGA) implemented a new protocol for the customs clearance process, where imported packages must include the merchandise’s invoice.
The customs clearance procedure for packages whose status is on hold experience delays when the process is not carried out in a timely manner.
It is important that at the time that your package is reviewed by the DGA, it must include an invoice with a description of the purchased item(s) and its declared value. Please retain a copy of this document in case it does not come inside the box.
Henceforth you will receive a notice when we receive a package missing its invoice at our office. The message will read as follows:
Important Notice: Your package has arrived without a commercial invoice, therefore we request that you sent a copy of your receipt, which includes your name and the description of the item(s) within 24 hours after the reception of this notification. Please send it to operaciones@aeropaq.com to avoid the payment of a RD$ 2,000.00 tariff levied by the Dirección General de Aduanas (DGA), if it determines the item has a value of US$ 200.00 on its database. Conversely, we avoid a RD$ 10,000.00 fine for packages left without presenting the original invoice and paying the corresponding value for 10 days or longer at the DGA. So, hurry up!! Avoid additional fees. Send us a copy of the invoice and we’ll take care of the rest!
Please remember that we do everything within our power, even going the extra mile in order to avoid setbacks, and assure you get your package(s) in the least amount of time possible.
